These whimsically fun and impossibly practical covered peanut bowls from Bordallo Pinheiro are hand-decorated, perfect proportioned and expertly executed to give you are a wonderful way to serve nuts, nibbles or anything else you can imagine. They can be used in the closed position as a covered bowl, but when separated they effortlessly become two perfectly proportioned serving bowls. They can be used either as 2 separate bowls or if serving nuts, one can contain the while nuts whilst the other as a receptacle for any spent shells.
Part of the kitchenware range designed by renowned Portuguese artist, Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro, a famous cartoonist, humourist, illustrator and social and political commentator of his day. In 1885 he founded a ceramic factory where he created many of the pottery designers. The factory is still in business and to this day imitations of this range can be found across the world bearing testimony to his enduring popularity.
