Description
Luckily the time spent maintaining your MiniMax EGG is minimal and the payback for the effort is enormous. Prime your EGG and get it ready for another season of cookouts with the Big Green Egg Ash Tools. The Ash Tools help you brush through the remaining coals once they have cooled and are essential to get the best performance out of your BBQ. They also have a double function: you can use them to spread the charcoal evenly before igniting the EGG. The Tools easily stow away so they dont clutter up your outdoor kitchen too.
We also sell the Big Green Egg Ash pan which complements this perfectly as once you have brushed the coal, you can use the pan to collect and dispose of anything you find!
History:
Founded in 1974 by Ed Fischer, The Big Green Egg derives from a simple idea with an ancient lineage. Its an updated iteration of a commonplace Asian rice cooker: the kamado, a Japanese word that translates as place for the cauldron. The Eggs modern design, which uses durable ceramics, is traced to the Chinese Qin Dynasty and then used by the Japanese beginning in the third century. Ed Fischer discovered the apparatus, like many servicemen of his generation, during his travels in Asia as a Navy engineer. He then imported them from Japan to sell domestically. Later, he designed a more durable version using ceramics designed by NASA. The first EGGs were manufactured in the mid-1990s at a factory in Mexico, which continues to manufacture EGGs to this day.
