Use this platter to gather together all your favourite nibbles and combine the best of a cheeseboard and charcuterie platter. Be sure to make a statement this season! This beautiful hand turned platter is made from British wood, sourced in Devon. They are all finished with sunflower oil and beeswax and are best looked after by hand washing. Hot running water is usually sufficient, but a rub with a scourer and a dab of washing up liquid will get rid of more resistant gunge. As they are used, they develop a patina reflective of the stains and scratches of that use and if the grain begins to look a little dull this can be enhanced with a light application of sunflower oil.

What makes this so special is that the timber used has been shown to contain properties which make it more resistant to the development of bacteria on its surface.

The natural grains vary from light to dark, showcasing nature’s own natural colour palette.

History:

Dave Regester who works in Devon has been a professional woodturner since 1974. He started woodturning at university and is self-taught. Dave has written many articles for Woodturning magazine and five books. He taught at Parnham College and has demonstrated and taught in Britain and abroad. Well known for his hand-turned bowls, boards and platters, Dave’s pieces are made from hardwoods grown in Devon. The simple yet distinctive silhouettes of these bowls bring an architectural tone to any setting.
